Caves & Dales Day

After a delicious breakfast, it’s time to set off on an adventure to the Ribblehead Viaduct, an engineering marvel that spans the picturesque Ribble Valley. This impressive 24-arch structure, built in the 19th century, offers breathtaking views and is an iconic symbol of the Yorkshire Dales.

Next, you'll journey to the nearby caves in the Ribblehead area. These limestone caves, formed over 350 million years, feature stunning natural formations and fascinating geological features. The caves are easy to navigate with short sections, and your experienced instructor will guide you through, ensuring everyone feels safe and has fun. There are options for all levels of adventurers, so you can explore at your own pace while marveling at the ancient underground world.

After your caving adventure, you’ll have the opportunity to explore one of the charming local towns in the Dales before heading back to the centre. Once back, relax and unwind before enjoying a delicious dinner and evening entertainment.

WEDNESDAY

Malham Cove & Goredale Scar Day

After breakfast, we’ll set off to explore two of the most stunning natural landmarks in the Yorkshire Dales: Malham Cove and Goredale Scar. First, we’ll visit Malham Cove, a dramatic limestone cliff that rises 260 feet above the surrounding landscape. Known for its breathtaking views, this stunning location was even featured in the Harry Potter films! You’ll have the chance to walk right to the top for panoramic vistas of the Dales below.

Next, we’ll take a scenic walk through the beautiful Janet’s Foss, a peaceful waterfall tucked into the hillside, before arriving at Goredale Scar. This impressive limestone ravine, with its towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls, is a real highlight. You’ll have the opportunity to scramble over rocks beneath the Scar, exploring the rugged beauty of this ancient site. On the way back, we’ll pass the ruins of a centuries-old settlement, offering a glimpse into the area’s rich history.

After a day of adventure, you’re welcome to take advantage of our 'parents night off' service, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing evening out. Alternatively, you can stay and unwind at High Adventure.

What families say...

"I've just come back from holiday there with my 3 children. We had a wonderful time. It's great to not have to think about anything. You pull up on Sunday and from then the cooking, planning of activities, driving is all done for you, the only thing you need to worry about is having fun and testing your limits. The activities start at 9-5, dinner at 6 then evening activities are 7:30-9. They even did a parents night off which the children all enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. It was great value for money and I'd highly recommend going to anyone". Lesley (Google Review)

"This was a week long family activity holiday. Absolutely amazing. Could not recommend more highly. All inclusive with great food. A fabulous array of activities throughout the day and evening. Both kids (10 and 13) and adults had a great time. Staff were so friendly and help with lots of info about the surrounding area. Accommodation was perfect with a separate kids room which they loved. Thanks so much all at High Adventure!!!"

Sally (Google Review)

"Just returned from a 6 night family adventure holiday as a family of 4 (age 6 and 10) plus our dog and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. My children worn out from a action packed week did not want to leave. We did caving, climbing, canoeing, paddle boarding, raft building, high ropes, low ropes, zip wire, archery, abseiling, hiking and lots of opportunity to enjoy all of the beautiful scenery the local area has to offer. Evening entertainment every evening following a lovely 3 course meal. The decision to take the dog was absolutely the right one, she enjoyed being involved and didn’t hinder our involvement in activities. The staff were all fantastic right from booking the holiday through to the instructors and on site team. Thank you to every one at High Adventure".
