Make use of our onsite bar, various social spaces indoors and out.

Sunday

Caves & Dales Day

After breakfast it's time to head off to the caves in Ribblehead via minibus, where you'll get to admire the famous viaduct (pretty incredible!). The caves are simple & in short sections & your instructor will ensure your safety & enjoyment. There are easy options so everyone can stay within their comfort zones. The caves are pretty amazing and the limestone has been formed over 350 million years!

After caving, it's time to explore one of the local towns on the way back & then time to relax before dinner & evening entertainment.

Monday

High Ropes, Zipline & Earl Crag

After breakfast, you'll enjoy half a day exploring & enjoying our onsite High Ropes course, which has four sections to it. You'll also get a go on our zipline which is awesome fun.

Relax and have lunch & then it's off to Earl Crag, an atmospheric gritstone outcrop topped by Wainman's Pinnacle and Lunds Tower (the latter you'll climb up & inside). You'll also have a go at weaselling & bouldering. It's then time to head back and relax before dinner followed by evening entertainment.

Tuesday

Watersports day

After breakfast it's time to head off by minibus to a local resevoir about 20 mins away where you'll enjoy a full day of water sports. For anyone not wanting to take part, we can drop you in Oakworth (where the Railway Childen was filmed) and you can enjoy a steam train ride (extra charge).

The water sports day includes kayaking, raft building & stand up paddleboarding. After a fun-filled day on the water, it's time to head back, relax & enjoy dinner and the evening entertainment.

Wednesday

Malham Cove & Goredale Scar

After breakfast it's time to head off to Malham Cove & Gordale Scare where you'll be amazed by its grandeur and scale. It's pretty impressive!  Here we'll take a walk to Malham Cove where we can walk right to the top (if you wish). Numerous scenes for Harry Potter were filmed here. We'll also take the walk via the beautiful Janet's Foss to Gordale Scar where we'll scramble the rocks beneath this impressive feature & on the way back see some ancient settlement ruins.  In the evening, you can take us up on our parents night off service if you wish and go out for the evening...or stay and relax at HA.

Thursday

Climbing, Archery & Fencing

Today is a fun day at HA enjoying a range of our onsite activities including climbing, archery & low ropes. Climbing is a half day session and takes place on our indoor climbing wall. You'll start with some easy climbs  & you can make it as difficult as you like as the climb progresses, guided by our instructors. After lunch, you'll enjoy a half day of finding out if you can actually fire a proper bow & arrow with any accuracy.

Once you have mastered the basics and safety is perfect then it’s competition time with interfamily competition, family v family and of course you will want to post a good score in the group vs group competition running throughout the week. You'll then

have a go at Fencing. After a fun day of adventure it's time to relax, have dinner & enjoy the evening entertainment.

Your Holiday,
your choice...

Opt in & out of activities, as you wish

Our holidays have been created to ensure there's plenty of exciting things going on every day and in the evenings, but feel free to dip in and out as you wish if you want a slightly more relaxed pace. It's your holiday, your choice.

Opting out - alternative options...

As long as we have a parent or guardian nominated to be in loco parentis and with us on activity any ‘spare’ parents or guardians can opt out of any activity. Whole families can opt out in order to do their own thing or take advantage of the sight seeing opportunities we offer on any of the three off-site days.

Opting out allows you to create your own bespoke family experience within the framework of our activity programme.

If opting out of an on-site activity you will simply have time to relax or explore the beautiful surrounding area, we can point you in the right direction of course but transport is down to you.

If opting out of one of the three off site activity days we have options for you relating to that day as follows:

Cave & Dales Day:

Watersports Day:

Malham Cove & Goredale Scar day
